Caldwell Heritage Museum Receives American Rescue Plan Funds
Caldwell Heritage Museum received an American Rescue Plan Humanities Grant from North Carolina Humanities, www.nchumanities.org. in September 2021. Funding for this grant was provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the American Rescue Plan Act economic stabilization plan.
The museum is one of 90 organizations across the state to receive these funds.
Funds such as these strengthen the cultural sector’s response to and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic in North Carolina. These much-needed grants provide economic relief, protect jobs, maintain humanities collections, and ensure that the experiences of North Carolinians and the stories of community resiliency during the pandemic are captured throughout the state. Over $1 million was available to aid in this statewide response and relief effort.
Funding for cultural organizations such as Caldwell Heritage Museum is important in preserving the heritage of our community. The Museum tells the story of our community through a variety of medium such as exhibits, photos, displays, printed material, artifacts, and presentations. Funding from organizations such as the North Carolina Humanities and the National Endowment of Humanities, as well as the generosity of our community, allows us to continue our mission, that of preserving the story of Caldwell County. We are in this together.
“We are grateful to be one of 90 organizations the North Carolina Humanities Council selected for this funding,” said Cindy Hedrick Day, Director.
Any reviews, findings, conclusions, opinions or recommendations expressed do not necessarily represent those of NC Humanities or the NEH.
